Grant Blashki is a GP, advocate, and researcher whose expertise extends over a broad set of subjects. Although his clinical interests lie mostly in mental health, environmental health, and global health, he also displays a passion for education. Lead of the University of Melbourne Masters subject Planetary and Global Health, he is also the lead editor of the textbook General Practice Psychiatry and lead editor of the Future Leaders books, and has served as an examiner for the RACGP fellowship.

Beyond the realms of formal education, Grant frequently uses his expertise in public speaking and media commentary to provide platforms for advocacy. Delivering expert advice in his role as Lead Clinical Advisor for Beyond Blue involves delivering expert advice and opinions in article and video formats, but he also delivers health information videos for his own clinical information website, Family Doctor Expert.

A philanthropic activist with a global perspective, Grant’s work in environmental and global health often finds him working with national and international organisations in roles such as Board Director of the Australian Conservation Foundation or Chair of the Environmental Working Party of the World Organisation of Family Doctors. A 2012 graduate of the Asia Link Leadership Program, Grant has also spent extensive time working in primary care in China.
