Cheryl Choong is a highly skilled medical practitioner with experience working independently across all fields as a rural generalist. She has experience working in rural and remote regions of far north Queensland, Cape York, and Torres Strait Islands, and is now working in both primary healthcare and emergency medical services in the Sunshine Coast.
With an expected completion of a Masters of Skin Cancer Medicine through the University of Queensland mid-2020, Cheryl has a skin cancer focus in her practice, as well as a passion for equality in health care, Indigenous health, and the impacts of climate change on health.
She is a strong believer in the importance of health advocacy and literacy for patients, as well as improved pastoral support for our frontline health workers.
