May is a GP, GP Supervisor, and Academic Lead (GP) at HETI, Higher Education, Master of Psychiatric Medicine Program.
In addition to the breadth of General Practice, May has specific interests in complex care, mental health, women’s health, sexual health and children, including psychotherapeutic supports and care for these groups.
Being interested in preventative health, May is passionate about improved community education and awareness. She has developed and facilitated several educational seminars on several health-related issues to the public and at a professional level. These have included issues on mental health, early childhood health and development, post-natal anxiety and depression, and family abuse and violence. She coordinates and facilitates teaching for the Masters of Psychiatric Medicine Program, HETI HE and for specialised skills training in post-graduate mental health.
